Impact in Health
Improving Healthcare in the US
The US healthcare system is the most expensive on the planet. We spend more on operations, tests and pharmaceuticals than other developed countries. And yet, the quality and equitable distribution of healthcare services do not measure up.
NYU Wagner is doing something about it.
We believe that everyone should have equal access to high-quality healthcare. OneThe only way to achieve this goal is to produce leaders who understand the full breadth of the US healthcare system and all its myriad challenges. The Master of Health Administration online degree program does not just teach comprehensive leadership skills. We build leaders who embrace a vision where a person’s socioeconomic status does not dictate whether they live or die. We teach students to consider the full community and social condition that could affect an individual’s health, with an emphasis on improving health among vulnerable populations such as the impoverished, uninsured, undocumented, chronically or severely ill and those facing cultural and linguistic barriers.
At NYU Wagner, we produce leaders capable of building a more efficient and fair healthcare system that will be able to produce better health outcomes. As a graduate of the MHA program, you will have the knowledge, skills and tools to change the system and improve it, both incrementally and structurally. You will more fully understand how management can affect and influence policy, and the importance of working within existing healthcare frameworks to effect positive change. Join the ranks of NYU Wagner alumni who are able to analyze patient satisfaction, launch and evaluate new programs, and publicize the existence of important services to those in need of them most. You will become one of the true leaders in the industry, able to take a vision for positive change in the US healthcare system and make it a reality.
